Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Inothewayurthinkin remains on course for the Punchestown Gold Cup on April 30, with owner J.P. McManus’ other top chaser Fact To File also likely to line up at the festival.

Connections of the Gavin Cromwell-trained Inothewayurthinkin had initially planned for the Grand National but having supplemented him before winning the Cheltenham showpiece race, this week withdrew the seven-year-old from Aintree.

Fact To File was the impressive winner of last week’s Ryanair Chase and in common with another of McManus’ leading chasers Dinoblue — which landed Cheltenham’s Mares Chase, should also feature at Punchestown.

McManus’ racing manager Frank Berry reports “obviously Inothewayurthinkin isn’t going to Liverpool, so it’ll be either Punchestown or pull up. He’ll want safe ground and again, ground-depending, Fact To File will also go to Punchestown.

“It’s up in the air but Fact To File has the two-mile and the three-mile options. It depends if the other fella (Inothewayurthinkin) runs but Fact To File could well go back to two miles.

“Dinoblue will probably again tog out in the Champion Chase so there is every chance, if the ground is ok, that the three will run in Punchestown.”
