Pat Foley is aiming to start off again at Punchestown with Verdant Place later in the month.

The Walk In The Park gelding was a progressive sort for the Bagenalstown handler last season, winning twice over fences.

He holds an entry in the Troytown Chase at Navan on Sunday week but is towards the bottom of the weights in the prestigious event with 9st 5lb.

“I can’t see him getting into it but it’s not the end of the world if he doesn’t,” said Foley at Fairyhouse on Tuesday.

“If he got in we might have a look at it but he won’t be running from out of the handicap.

“We might start back in the race he ran in at Punchestown last season, the 0-150 handicap.”

Verdant Place was fifth in the Ryans Cleaning Handicap Chase to start his campaign last year.
