Gavin Cromwell has Royal Ascot very much in mind again for Snellen as the mare makes her seasonal reappearance in the Al Shira'aa Racing "Mutamakina" Stakes at Leopardstown this afternoon.

The daughter of Expert Eye won the Chesham Stakes in 2023 and again ran a cracker at the Berkshire venue last June when runner-up in the Kensington Palace Stakes.

“She was just touched off in Ascot last year, so hopefully this is a prep run to go back to Ascot,” said Cromwell.

"She has wintered great, she is in good form. She will come on for the run.

"She loves nice ground and hopeful of a good run.”

Snellen recorded a fifth career win when beating the odds-on Purview in the BoyleSports Meld Stakes over 1m1f at Leopardstown last summer and now faces nine rivals in this 7f Group 3 including recent Gowran winner City Of Memphis.
