The Joseph O'Brien trained Nurburgring will bid to follow up last years festival win in the hurdle, when he runs in the Galway Week next Wednesday.

Following a first win over fences at Killarney recently, the gelding is reported to be right on target for the highlight of the Ballybrit festival.

O'Brien said: "The plan for him is to go back for the Plate this year. He obviously has won at the track, having won the (Galway) hurdle last year.

"He had a couple of good runs over fences last season during the winter as well. So, it would be lovely if we could get him back there for the Plate this year.

"He seems in good shape. Great run at Royal Ascot , just got beaten. Was probably up in another stride or two. Smashing horse, he's been a great servant for his owners."
