Marnane has Gowran Classic in mind for Manton Bay One of 99 entries for the valuable Gowran Classic on June 1st, David Marnane is looking forward to the return of his Manton Bay. Bought for E20,000 at the Goffs Orby Sale, the Ulysses bay failed to fire on debut at the Curragh in September, but prevailed by a head on his second start at Dundalk. "He's doing well. He has done very well over the winter. We are hoping to run him in Cork in about a month's time," Marnane reported. "On the conditions of the race (in Gowran), he is quite well in. "He has really developed over the winter - he has got into a very big, strong, powerful horse and he probably wants a mile/mile-and-a-quarter. He probably wants no extremes of ground. "One to look forward to." Additional reporting by Michael Graham
