Punchestown Could Be Next For Murphy Ace
Despite running at both the Cheltenham and Aintree Festivals, Aces Four could have one more outing before enjoying a summer break.
Ferdy Murphy's charge was running a huge race at Cheltenham before making a bad mistake at the third-last fence and duly made amends at the Grand National meeting last week.
'We'll have a look at Punchestown and I'll have a chat with his owner,' Murphy told At The Races.
'We had a small operation done on him over the winter to tinker with his wind and his first run back was at Cheltenham.
'He hasn't had many runs really and he's only run six times over fences so that's not a lot of mileage.'
Aces Four is likely to be aimed at the Stan James King George VI Chase next season.
'We'll probably go down for the King George first as I think the layout of the course will suit his style of running,' Murphy said.
'If he got a bit of good ground then he could take a bit of pegging back so we'll probably go down that route and if he made a Gold Cup horse it would be fantastic.
'He goes a good lick from the front and he jumps great ? he's very slick.
'He's a fellow that will probably improve a little bit with age too as he still has to fill out a bit.'
