Gold Cup runner-up On His Own is unlikely to run in the Crabbie's Grand National at Aintree on April 5.
The Willie Mullins-trained 10-year-old, owned by Graham Wylie, is instead likely to contest the Punchestown Gold Cup at the end of April after he dramatically lost out by just a short head at the Cheltenham Festival
Mullins told the Irish Times: "He had a very hard race in the Gold Cup and I think Punchestown is the place to go with him."
He went on: "The owner could have another string to his bow in that race with Boston Bob after his performance on Thursday (sixth in the Ryanair Chase)."
