The Borris House point-to-point venue was in the news last night after the sale of Sunday's winner Trevelyn's Corn for 400,000 pounds. Mount Hanover was second at the same County Carlow fixture in 2016, and today he got off the mark in the FenuSave Choice Of Champions Maiden Hurdle at Fairyhouse.

Mount Hanover was running for Barry Murphy 'between the flags,' but he's now in the Champion Chase winning ownership of Sally Rowley-Williams.

Mrs Rowley-Williams has Cheltenham hero Special Tiara with Henry de Bromhead, and Mount Hanover is also housed at the County Waterford trainer's stables.

After an inauspicious start, when he had to be withdrawn at the Listowel festival after another horse was mistakenly brought to the races in his place, Mount Hanover has since put a couple of third placings to his name.

Aboard the six-year-old for the first time, Dylan Robinson here got Mount Hanover home by an eased down length and three parts from Riverdene

"That was brilliant. It was a great ride from Dylan and a tough performance. They went a good gallop and he did it well. He stays well, and hopefully further will suit him better," commented de Bromhead.

"He's by Kayf Tara so you would hope that better ground would suit him as well."
