Sun 7th Dec 2008, 14:35

Co Monaghan trainer Oliver Brady made a welcome return to winner's enclosure when winning The Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle with Saddler's Native ridden by Matthew Bowes and owned by Anthony McCann.

Bowes raced the Saddlers' Hall gelding in mid-division, improved to dispute lead approaching straight, led after 2 out and kept on well to hold off Mr Prince of Paul Nolan's by 1 ? lengths.

Winning trainer Brady said afterwards, "The last day he ran at Fairyhouse we got there too soon with him, so I told Matthew [Bowes] today to hold on to him a bit longer. We have no real plans for him as of yet."
