Calamint ran away from a big field in division one of the mile handicap at Naas for an impressive victory.

This was her first run since switching to Adrian Murray and she tanked to the front under David Egan a furlong and a-half down.

Egan soon shook her up and she moved clear inside the final furlong. The race was over as she took the honours by four and a-half lengths at 33/1. Stormy Jenn was a never-dangerous second at 9/1 with Naisiun (13/2) and Captured (33/1) third and fourth respectively.

Murray said: “She came to me about three weeks ago. I was quietly confident as she’d been working very well and she was bucking and squealing in the stableyard, so I thought today could be the day.”

This was her first victory on her 10th career start.
