Carlisle Bay showed a good attitude to get off the mark on debut in the juvenile maiden over nine furlongs at Tipperary.

Michael Hussey was keen to get his mount into the lead and nudged him along to take over from Dublin Journal after a quarter of a mile.

The 7/1 shot was there to be shot at by the field as he came off the bridle rounding the home bend.

He was ridden a furlong and a half down and had the scent of victory in his nostrils as his rivals faltered in their pursuit of him.

The Galileo colt kept finding to close the race out by two lengths for Aidan O’Brien. 400/1 outsider Magic Carousel chased him home from 40/1 Supposedtobe

Michael Hussey said: "He is a grand, big horse; he loved it out in front and kept going.

"He is a big, staying horse for next year, will improve and will only get better in time."
