Cian Collins and Denis O’Regan teamed up to land a valuable handicap hurdle at Killarney last Sunday and they joined forces again to land division two of the Follow Us On Facebook Handicap Hurdle with Fiveonefive at Tipperary.

The five-year-old son of Dylan Thomas, as big as 18/1 overnight, was well supported throughout the day and further backed on track from 4/1 into 11/4 favourite.

Denis O’Regan gave him a patient ride before making smooth headway on the outer to challenge entering the straight. The well-backed gelding only needed to be pushed out on the run-in to beat Inchiquin Star by a cosy length and three-quarters.

Collins said, “He’s a nice horse that lad. His first run was behind A Dream To Share but he just lost his way. I think he’s just a big, weak horse and it took him a bit of time to get going.

“We treated him for a few issues and he’s come back after a good break showing plenty of ability. He likes that good ground and Denis gave him a peach.

“I bought him for €1,500 two years ago and he has two lovely owners Tony (Lagan) and Salvo (Giannini).

“He could run in the likes of Killarney and Galway over the summer.”
