Wayne Lordan kept it simple on Coumshingaun as the most experienced runner in the race ran out an easy winner of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Listowel.

Lordan had the Kevin Coleman trained filly up with the pace from the outset and took up the running traveling well just after turning into the straight. Once he asked his mount to quicken, she went right away and galloped on strongly.

Third in a competitive handicap at Gowran Park last time, the daughter of Fastnet Rock knew her job and had too much knowhow for these rivals. Are We Dreaming held every chance before staying on for second, while Lopes Gold kept on well back in third.

Wayne Lordan said; "she ran well in a few maidens last year, and had a good run in Gowran, in handicap company. I felt like I didn’t really get home over seven furlongs in Gowran, and Kevin wasn’t afraid to drop her back into a maiden over that trip. She was always going to win one, it was a matter of when.

“She’s tough, and she’s hardy. She’s a big filly, but she’s strong. Kevin’s horses are running really well and it’s another one on the board for him, which is good.”
