Royal Scholar registered a second course and distance win over Dundalk's mile today, landing the Follow On Twitter @DundalkStadium Handicap (div II) for trainer Sarah Lynam and jockey Shane Crosse.

Crosse's older brother Nathan Crosse had won the half-hour earlier divide of the race on the John Cahill trained Run The Jewels and Royal Scholar (100/30) scored by a length and a half in the later race.

Winning trainer Lynam later commented “he got very upset in the stalls the last day and that’s probably the reason why he didn’t run so well. He came back with quite a few cuts.

“He’s quite tricky but Shane (Crosse) knows him well and was very good on him. Everything has to go right for this chap, he’s good fun but he’s tricky to win with.

“He likes the all-weather and will be back here. A mile is good but he was also just beaten over seven here before. He seems to do well with a little gap between his races.”
