Cullen steers Better Times to Wexford win

Sun 25th Oct 2009, 16:45

Better Times made a winning debut when taking the Spawell Bumper at Wexford today, scoring a timely boost for trainer Michael O'Brien.

Better Times, a son of Lord Americo, was held up towards the rear under a good ride from Denis Cullen, improved to lead under three furlongs out, eventually recording a four and a half lengths win.

Afterwards Cullen reported “that will be a nice boost for Michael as he is unwell at present. Better Times is a lovely horse but is still a bit raw. He has schooled well and we'll see what is coming up for him now.”
