Duff wins Concorde Stakes

Sun 4th Oct 2009, 15:42

The Eddie Lynam trained Duff recorded his eighth career win after he landed the Coolmore Stud Home Of Champions Concorde Stakes Group 3 under the guidance of Fran Berry making it a quick double for the jockey.

Berry lead from halfway on the Spinning World gelding and the pair kept on well to hold off the challenge of Dohasa by three parts of a length.

A delighted Lynam said afterwards: “You could think you are a racehorse trainer when you have a horse like him.”

“We are thinking of going to Hong Kong with him. The trick is to get a rating of 115 then he’d have a choice of the mile or sprint race over there.”

“He only needs to go up one pound and after today I think he’ll go up enough. Fran gave him a great ride and he gets on very well with him.”
