The Tony Martin-trained Mr Everest made a successful switch back to the level when running out a game winner of the mile-six handicap at Listowel.

Robbie Colgan soon settled the easy-to-back 8/1 shot (4/1 in morning) behind the leaders having been prominent early. Ocean Voyage tried to nick a few lengths on the field turning for home but was chased down passing the furlong pole by Mr Everest.

The Cape Cross gelding stuck on well in the closing stages to post a three-parts-of-a-length victory over Dalton Highway

Colgan said:- “He did it really well and gave me an easy ride around in the box seat. It took a while to wind him up but once he got into top stride in the straight he kept galloping to the line well.

“It’s going good (on the Flat) and I’m getting plenty of rides. People are starting to use me again, and it’s good to keep fit.

“Tony was a little bit worried about the ground but it’s no more than yielding National Hunt ground. He got away with it today.”
