Seven to two second favourite Fair Game a home-bred for the Edward O'Grady-yard, ran out a convincing winner of the Exchange Inn & Kevin Broderick's Bar Handicap at Listowel.

Victorious at Tipperary on August 25th, and second at Galway since, the successful Lawman filly was soon in a chasing the leaders role and she was ridden to lead over a furlong out.

Fair Game kept on well in the final furlong to defeat Prove The Point by two lengths.

"She handles the ground well. I think the track in Galway caught her out the last day. She travelled everywhere but I think the hill caught her out," said winning rider Billy Lee.

"She's definitely better back on a flat track like at Tipperary where she won previously. There is more fresh ground today."

The Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after the start involving More Kudos (USA), ridden by C. O'Donoghue, unplaced and Polly Douglas ridden by C.P. Hoban, unplaced. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that C.O'Donoghue was in breach of Rule 211, in that he failed to keep straight to the marker poles and Rule 214, in that he rode carelessly. Having considered his record the rider was suspended for two race day's, one day for each offence.
