Jack Foley bagged a winner on his first ride for trainer Robert Tyner at Navan today as the 7lbs claimer steered Direct Image (9/1) to win the Bar One Racing New Account Handicap Hurdle (div II).

A dual point-to-point winner, the daughter of Shantou was today reverting to hurdles for the first time since December 2019 and scored by a length and three parts over Dynamic Allen

Afterwards Foley stated “that was a good performance. Her run over fences at Tramore the last day was a solid run. I knew coming here that if she could repeat that she'd be in with a shout.

"I spoke to Robert (Tyner) beforehand and neither of us could see much pace in the race so he said to pop out and not be afraid to go upsides if nothing wanted to go on.

"She was comfortable going a sensible gallop and she enjoyed herself. She has a good attitude.

"I'm based with Tom Mullins a couple of mornings a week and with Willie a few mornings as well. Tom is my boss and he's brilliant to me.”
