The final race at Roscommon this evening, the Boyle Mares Lady Riders bumper, went to the 2/1 favourite Freefairngenuine for trainer Charlie Swan with Nina Carberry in the saddle.

The 4yo daughter of Oscar had three runs to her name before today, finishing well beaten on her first two starts over hurdles before running a much better race last time out to finish just over eight lengths seventh to Paramatta in a bumper at Ballinrobe.

Having her second start in bumper company this evening the JP McManus owned filly moved into third approaching the straight and soon came with her challenge, travelling strongly.

She led from two furlongs out and stayed on well from there to draw clear inside the final furlong, scoring easily by eleven lengths. Turtle Mist under Adrianne Foley for Tony Mullins finished best of the rest back in the second at 25/1 while Luso’s Way was a further half a length back in third at 7/1 for John Hanlon and Rachel Blackmore.

Winning trainer Charlie Swan said afterwards: "It probably wasn't the greatest race in the world and we won't get too carried away but it was a help and she handled the ground well.

"Jewel In the Sun (also trained by Swan) is her half-brother and he wants the ground like the road so I thought she would want better ground.”
