The Jim Bolger trained Mainicin registered her fifth win at Leopardstown today when making all to land the Happy Mondays Apprentice Handicap under jockey Daniel Redmond.

The daughter of Teofilo had made all to gain her first career win over this course and distance on July 14 of last year, and today employed similar tactics when scoring an easy five and a half lengths win over Misty Mountain

Mainicin’s first taste of front-running was gained in the white-heat of a fiercely competitive Irish 1,000 Guineas of 2015, won by her better fancied stablemate Pleascach who defeated subsequent Arc winner Found and following today’s win, Bolger alluded to that race saying “this filly doesn't owe me anything as she made the running in the Guineas for Pleascach.

“She handles Dundalk as well so I have that option with her.”
