Dermot Weld’s useful dual-purpose performer Days Without End (1/5 fav), runner-up in his first two starts over hurdles, duly landed the odds with the minimum of fuss under Paul Townend in the Wintergrass Maiden Hurdle.

Last seen chasing home Diamond Hill at Galway, the Dubai Destination gelding cruised home by five lengths and seven lengths from Challow (4/1) and Military Hill (8/1).

He went clear from three out and it was a straightforward task from there as he got the job done very comfortably.

“It's nice to ride a winner over hurdles for Mr Weld again, Unaccompanied seems a long time ago,” said winning rider Townend.

“He was entitled to beat them as well as he did and he was pricking his ears a bit in front. We kept it simple and made the running, he had experience.

“He's done it nicely, we didn't learn anymore about him. He jumps well.”
