Haqeeba recorded her fourth career success, as she ran out a good winner of the Biggest 90s-00s Disco Concert 28th June At Navan Handicap.

The Liam Lennon trained six-year-old filled the runner-up spot on two occasions at Dundalk in recent months, and ran a respectable race to take eighth at Naas last Saturday, when racing in a group of three on the disadvantaged near side.

Available at 25/1 in a place this morning, the daughter of Haatef eventually went off at 14s under Declan McDonogh.

Soon in front in the centre of the track, the Maurice McCavitt owned bay was ridden a furlong out and soon extended her advantage, keeping on well to score by three lengths. Takeachancejimmy (14/1) finished second under Robbie Colgan for Nigel Slevin, while Rag Tatter (16/1) and Early Call (13/2) were third and fourth respectively. May Remain was sent off the 9/2 favourite and finished a disappointing thirteenth, but he did meet with some trouble in running close home.

"I'm pleased for her owner Maurice McCavitt, who is a businessman from Newry. Unfortunately he couldn't make it today," said Lennon.

"She just seemed to be on song today for some reason. We gave her a bit of work during the week and we were really happy with her.

"We don't usually run horses week after week but she was in such good form during the week we said we'd just give her a run."

STEWARDS REPORTS

J.G.Coogan, trainer of Flojo reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge ran without the near hind shoe having lost it leaving the parade ring

The Stewards interviewed J.G.Coogan, trainer of Flojo, after it appeared that Mr Coogan struck his charge with a lead rope while the animal was having difficulty leaving the parade ring. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who accepted that he had used a lead rope in an unacceptable manner and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Stewards found Mr. Coogan in breach of Rule 272. Having taken his impeccable life time record in this regard into account, the Stewards severely cautioned Mr. Coogan on this occasion.
