After winning the first two-year-old race of the new season at the Curragh last weekend, Jessica Harrington sent out another juvenile winner when It’s Showtime Baby (5/2) landed the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.
The daughter of Showcasing tracked the leaders and was pushed along early in the straight by Shane Foley. Ridden over a furlong out, she got to the front inside the final furlong and scored by a length and a quarter from Carlotta
The 6/4 favourite Drunk In Love lost all chance when plunging and dropping to the rear of the field in the first furlong. She came home fourth of the six runners in the end.
Foley said: "She was green throughout the race. She has never been off the bridle and got a bit lost between the three and the two (pole), and it just took me a furlong to organise her but I won well at the line.
"She is a nice filly and she wants to go six furlongs - she will step up to six no problem.
"The surface is quick now as we haven't had rain for a while. We've had rain on it earlier and it is quite quick."
On the stable's start with its juveniles, he added: "I said it to Jessie three weeks ago that all our two-year-olds are nice or they are average. We have a lovely bunch and it is nice to have them."
