Polla Milano (9/4) was a decisive winner of the concluding Thanks To Frontline Staff Mares (Ladies Pro/Am) Flat Race.

She moved up into contention on the home turn and led over two furlongs out. From there she stayed on resolutely to win by six and a half lengths from 40/1 chance Decadio Lady Belle Lurette (11/1) was third while the front-running 2/1 favourite Awesome Shirocco faded to finish fifth.

A point-to-point winner at Boulta in December, the successful Milan 6-year-old was a promising third on her bumper debut at Thurles last month.

Winning rider Jody Townend said: “She was very good and was very straightforward. I'd say she wouldn't want the ground much quicker than that (yielding) but she got away with it today and is a nice mare to go forward with.

"That's my second ride and my first winner for Denis and she only just changed owners before she ran today so it is great for them (Adare-based Michael and Joan Toomey) as well."
