Timourid (28/1) was an easy winner of the Dundalk Stadium Claiming Race.

The Gleneagles gelding, a maiden winner at Clonmel last month, broke well and got over from a wide draw to track the leaders. When asked for more two furlongs out the Aga Khan-bred 4-year-old readily went clear to beat Malaysian by three and a half lengths.

17-year-old Daniel King, younger brother of former dual champion apprentice Connor, rode the winner for Denis Hogan.

“He travelled well throughout and when I asked him up the straight he picked up and did it nicely,” said King.

“That's my third winner, I'm down to 7lb now, and it's great to get another winner on the board. Denis (Hogan) has been very good to me and I can't thank him enough for giving me the opportunities.”

The winner was claimed by Malaysian's trainer James McAuley for 13,000 euros while the unplaced 5/2 favourite Leadership Race was claimed for 5,000 euros by Rachel O'Neill to join 'Shark' Hanlon's yard.
