The Rushe's Supervalu (Pro/Am) Flat Race for four-year-olds was won in taking style by Impulsive Dancer (15/2).

The son of Dragon Pulse disputed the lead from the outset with Ceroc before taking a definite advantage before the home turn. The 13/8 favourite Douglas Dc moved into contention early in the straight but had no answer when the winner quickened up for Eoin O’Brien racing towards the final furlong.

Eight lengths was the winning margin with the market leader in turn nine lengths in front of third home Ceroc (12/1).

Winning trainer Richard O’Brien said: “We had been away to a few different places with him. We bought him as a yearling and were hoping he’d do something on the Flat but he didn’t really start to show anything until October/November time and we said we’d wait for this race.

“That’s a good performance and he’s finished out great. The Sheahan family own him and are good supporters of mine. He’s in the shop window and we’ll see what happens.”
