Invictus World (12/1) won a slowly-run bumper in the hands of Noel McParlan.

A son of German-bred sire Nicaron, the four-year-old had made the running when second at Perth last month and was close to the steady pace throughout on this occasion. In front from early in the straight, he battled on well to hold Reginalds Tower by half a length. A Law Of Her Own was a further length and a half back in third having struggled to find racing room over a furlong out.

Winning trainer Gerald Quinn said: "We're based in Broughshane Co Antrim. We've 35 horses now at the moment, a few point-to-pointers.

"That's our first in Ireland, we've had a few across the water, but it's great to get one here. You're competing with the best here.

"Noel gave him a peach of a ride.

"We always thought a lot of him, he's a lovely horse. He had decent form.

"I train all the horses for the land owner Philip McBurney, he owns the majority of them."
