The Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle was won by Jiving Jerry (6/1, from 10s earlier in the day) in the hands of Simon Torrens.

The Jeremy gelding came through to lead after the second last and kept on well to score by a length and a quarter from the 5/2 favourite Mick Charlie Fly De Megaudais (12/1) finished another seven lengths away in third.

The winner had been unplaced in eight previous runs, all over hurdles, but had run respectably when sixth at Bellewstown on his previous start.

Having started out with David Kiely, this was the 5-year-old’s third outing for winning trainer Jimmy Barcoe.

It was a sixth winner of the season for Simon Torrens
