Jumping the name of the game for Hans

Hans Crescent was left to come home a long way clear in an incident packed Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Chase at Thurles.

Matty Bowes' mount looked to be travelling best as he approached the second last with Rakamasi only for that rival to crash out.

It left Michael Hourigan's charge clear of Sorted who had relinquished his lead after the third last.

He popped the last and didn't have to work too hard to record a 27-length victory.

Ten lined up in the 2m2f event but the testing conditions took their toll with only four finishing well stretched out.

"He is what he is and what can the handicapper do with him after that, "said Hourigan.

"The fences are there to be jumped and he jumped well. Let's be honest it was a poor race but it's good that mine are back in form.

"He can sweat up badly before the race but we got permission to get in and out of the parade ring as quickly as possible."
