On his second run since being switched to the Sarah Lynam yard Frankel five-year-old Juyush (all-weather debut) supplemented a sole 2018 win from fourteen outings now, in the DundalkStadium.com Handicap (DIV I).

Victorious previously in France when under Freddy Head’s guidance for Hamdan Al Maktoum, the British-bred, a 300,000 Euro yearling, now competes for Direct Bloodstock Limited.

On his initial spin on the former Peter Fahey inmate, Oisin Orr got him home by two and a half lengths and half a length from Jazzelle and Adapt To Dan

“I only have him a couple of months. Fergal (O’Neill, owner) had a lot of faith in him and thought a change of scenery might sweeten him up a bit,” said the County Meath-based handler, on the mark for the first time in 2020.

“The last day in Cork I think the ground was a bit softer than they were saying so I thought we’d leave the grass and try here. He seemed to like it anyway.

“He stayed the mile well. He’s quite strong and has been tried over a number of trips but he enjoyed it there and Oisin gave him a great ride and got him to settle.

“I’ve had a few beaten a short-head lately so it’s brilliant to get that.”

R.P. Whelan, rider of Overtake (GB) trained by M.Halford, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped left when the stalls opened.
