Might And Mercy (16-5) continued Noel Meade's good run and completed a quick double for Colin Keane when landing the seven-furlong fillies' handicap.

Successful on Mutasarref in the previous Listed contest, Keane had front-running 2/1 favourite Sistine Madonna in his sights from halfway and his mount challenged from over a furlong out. The three-time champion jockey didn't need to go for his stick, but continually changed his hands on the reins, as his mount led inside the final 150 yards and kept on well to thwart the market leader by half a length.

Runner-up three times, the daughter of Pearl Secret was getting off the mark at the eighth time of asking.

Keane said: "She had put a few consistent runs together but was coming back from a mile to seven furlongs and I was sceptical, although Noel was keen to take a chance with a small field and a nice pot.

"The owners are great supporters of Noel and have a few horses with him."

The winning syndicate, one of whom is former handicapper Ciaran Kennelly, also enjoyed success at Leopardstown yesterday when Hasten Slowly gave Meade his first two-year-old winner of the campaign.
