The 4/7 favourite Montego Bay second in a Curragh handicap on Monday, went one better in the Naas Racecourse (Fillies) Maiden to give Wayne Lordan and trainer Aidan O’Brien doubles on the day.

Lordan tracked the leaders before challenging in the final quarter mile and went on from the furlong marker to beat Elanora (7/1) by two and a quarter lengths.

The winning daughter of No Nay Never was getting off the mark at the fifth attempt.

“She’s been running very consistent,” said Lordan.

“I was able to get a nice position and she settled well. She quickened up and went to the line well.

“I think that’s in around her trip.”
