Maccliff made up for her pre-race antics by running out a brave winner of Division l of the Save 33% Buying Tickets Online Handicap at Gowran Park.

Gerard Hussey 's mare was fractious in the parade ring and unwilling to go down to the start but once consenting to take part she bounced out smartly and kept her rivals at bay.

A dual winner at Dundalk, she hadn't shown as much on grass prior to today but looked thoroughly at home in the conditions as she galloped her rivals into submission.

Ger Hussey said; “My biggest worry today was her actually going to the start and you probably saw her antics there.

“It was a bonus straight away that we got her to go down. Siobhan did a great job there and if she ever deserved to win one she deserved that one. All credit to her and we owe her one.

“It's her first turf win, she hadn't even been placed up to now on turf, so we are delighted.

“My plan was to pop her out to the field for a while and come back for the all-weather after a long summer break but we might change that plan now. She enjoyed that.”
