The Sneezy Foster trained Julia’s Magic gained an important first win at Dundalk this evening, when landing the Christmas Party Nights Dundalk Nursery under jockey Gary Carroll.

The daughter of Dandy Man was produced to lead over a furlong out before scoring a three parts of a length win over War Hero and afterwards Foster said “I'm absolutely delighted for the filly and for the owners, the Fox family have been great supporters of mine.”

She added “‘Magic’, as we know her by, is a sister to Lily's Rainbow whom I won a Listed race with in Navan last year: she had big boots to fill and she's filled them and actually, dare I say it, I think she's better than Lily's Rainbow. There is more to her, she's stronger and bigger, and she's still growing.

“I think whatever she does now that she'll be better in the spring. She's a lovely filly.

“Tonight was the plan and we'll have to looks and see what there is now. With the fact that she is still growing she might just have a break now and let her rest on her laurels.

“I would hope she could be a black-type filly, and if her sister did it she can do it - I’ll tell her that!”
