The David Marnane-trained Jered Maddox (16/1) landed the nightcap at Dundalk as Declan McDonogh gave him a strong drive to win the seven-furlong handicap for horses rated 47-65.

There was a line of horses spread across the track at the furlong pole but, closest to the stands' rail, it was the Lawman gelding who pulled out a bit more to foil Delta Romeo by half a length.

The six-year-old was winning for the fourth time at this venue with three of those victories coming this year.

McDonogh said: "They took the blinkers off him, he had been missing the start with the blinkers on. He pinged the gates and he travelled very well.

"He was a winner everywhere in my opinion. He travelled good in behind the second horse, got a grand lead off him and stuck his head out well passing the stableyard.

"David's horses are in bang order again.

"It is nice to win the last Flat race of the year."
