Pulled Mussel ran out a facile winner of the Pegus Horse Feed Point-To-Point Series Final Flat Race, scoring under James ‘Corky’ Carroll for trainer Robert Tyner.

The son of Craigsteel won his point-to-point at Dromahane on his third career start in March, and having opened a 4/6 chance this morning, he went from 4/9 to 2/5 on-course.

Having tracked the leaders throughout, the victorious bay travelled best as they entered the home straight, and when given a slap down the shoulder he went on, stretching clear a furlong and a half from home, scoring by nineteenth lengths at the line from Goulane Chosen (14/1) in second.

Mary Tyner, wife of winning trainer Robert, said afterwards: "He looks the part and he will go for the Curragh bumper next in May. We won it before with Footy Facts and we were touched off in it with Our Musician.

"He is now owned by a five member syndicate from England. Martin Shanahan (well-known TV chef) was involved up until last week.
