Nelson justified his short price when making all for a convincing victory in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (C&G) Maiden at Leopardstown.

The Ballydoyle colt was sent to post a 1/2 shot after finishing runner-up at the Curragh on his previous outing.

Donnacha O'Brien bounced out in front on the son of Frankel and he stretched his rivals turning for home, going on to record a three-length success in the mile contest.

Stable-mate Christopher Robin looked a name to note as he stayed on nicely to finish runner-up on his debut.

“You'd be delighted with that . He came forward lovely from his first to his second. He ran a nice race the last day but came forward again,” said O'Brien.

“We could look at the Beresford or something like that with him. He gets a mile well and stays well. He was galloping out well to the line.

“You'd be delighted with the runner-up as well. He ran a lovely race and he's a lovely horse.

“He was just ready to come and you'd be delighted with the way he kept coming.

“They went an even pace and it was a very good run out of him because it wasn't a dawdle. It was a good run for a first timer.”
