Nerano easily lands the odds on second start

Nerano readily justified odds of 2/9 when drawing clear inside the final furlong to take the Join Us On Instagram @dundalk_stadium Maiden.

The Joseph O’Brien-trained son of War Front was prominent throughout before ridden to assert at the furlong pole by Dylan Browne McMonagle.

The hot-pot, who made a pleasing debut when third behind Raknah also over a mile here in December, kept on strongly to beat Pepper Noir by five lengths with Late Night Talking a length and three-quarters back in third.

Browne McMonagle, who rode 11 winners on a winter stint in Australia, said: "He's got a great mind and is very straightforward. He jumped good and it was very uncomplicated. They went nice and even, and I just took a lead off them.

"I travelled around everywhere and it was only a matter of pressing the button whenever I wanted. He has quickened up good and has got to the line like he will have no problem stepping up in trip as well. He's definitely an exciting colt."

When asked if he would be seen to better effect in a better race, the rider added: "He has done everything pleasing so far so I have no doubt he will be able to step up in grade."
