Run 'N' Jump sprang a 14/1 surprise on her debut as she took the opener at Cork this afternoon, the Family Day Out Maiden Hurdle over two miles.
Trained by Jessica Harrington and ridden by Tommy Treacy, the 4yo daughter of Flemensfirth was always prominent and hit the front before the second last.
She was strongly pressed at the last by the Denis Hogan trained and ridden Swampfire (11/2) but that fellow made a bad mistake there leaving the winner with a decisive advantage.
Swampfire tried in vain to peg back that margin on the run-in but the winner stuck to her task well and kept on to score by half a length at the line. Ontheground finished six and a half lengths back in third for Tom Foley and Philip Enright at 6/1 while the 4/1 favourite Andreas Pride for Myles Sunderland and Davy Russell fell at the second flight.
The winner is owned by Elder Scouller who also owns 2011 RSA Chase winner Bostons Angel.
His late father Philip bred the winner and also bred Bostons Angel.
The Willie Mullins trained Pique Sous would have went off the short priced favourite for this contest but he was pulled out this morning due to a temperature.
