O'Grady wins opener at Killarney

Sun 9th May 2010, 14:43

Punters were off to a good start when the well back Suffren took the opening Killarney Towers Hotel Maiden Hurdle under Andrew McNamara.

McNamara sent the 1/2 favourite to the front at the second last and the pair forged clear after the last to score by a convincing four lengths.

Winning jockey McNamara said afterwards: “He has been working very well at home, it was probably a weak enough race but he did it well.”
