40/1 chance Pita Pinta took the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden (Div I), coming from off the pace to run down 3/1 favourite Let Me Pass close home.

A daughter of 2006 Epsom Derby Sir Percy winner out of a dam who won on the Flat and over hurdles, the Fozzy Stack-trained winner hadn’t shown a lot on her first two starts but came home best on the testing ground to score by a length and a quarter. Shackleton Hero (10/3) was another three and a half lengths away in third.

Winning rider Chris Hayes said: "She’s a nice filly and we liked her during the lockdown. She got a break during the summer.

“She had two ok runs you wouldn’t have been getting carried away with. It’s obviously testing conditions and it wasn’t the greatest contest of all time but she put her experience to good use.

“She’s a filly you would like to have for next year.”
