Jer's Girl could clash with Limini at the Punchestown Festival after her impressive Grade One win at Fairyhouse.

A first win at the highest level for trainer Gavin Cromwell, she was bought just before the race by JP McManus.

His retained jockey Barry Geraghty was suitably impressed and says she has plenty of options at Punchestown now.

"I'd say she is a mare who is improving with every run," Geraghty told his At The Races blog.

"The weight allowance was obviously in her favour, getting 12lb and 13lb from her rivals as a four-year-old, but she still did it very well.

"She has made the running before but, stepping up to two and a half miles, I was happy to take a lead on her.

"Jer's Girl settled well and, when I asked her to pick up on the run to the last, she did so impressively and she came away from her rivals nicely.

"She was obviously mature enough to take on the older mares, and it was a good piece of training, a good piece of placing by Gavin Cromwell.

"It can't have been easy for him to sidestep the Cheltenham Festival, but his patience has been rewarded. It was great for Gavin to have his first Grade One winner at his local track.

"It was also nice for the JP, Jer's Girl was an astute acquisition, bought just before this race. The contest was a great race to win, and it's nice for the boss to have a Grade One-winning filly.

"Jer's Girl could go to the Punchestown Festival now, and she would have options there.

"She could take on Limini, she could run in the mares' novice race or she could run in the juvenile contest.

"It's nice to have those options, but Jer's Girl is a Grade One winner now wherever she goes next."
