The Limerick Racecourse Rated Race produced a good finish with Punk Poet (4/1) just finding a little more in the closing stages to thwart the 10/3 favourite Mudawy by a neck.

The pair had come through to duel for the lead at the furlong pole and Eddie Lynam’s gelding knuckled down well to gain his second career win on his fifth start of the year.

He had been a wide margin winner at Dundalk in November under today’s winning rider Shane Crosse who remarked: "He is a big boy and it takes him a while to get fit. He had a few lovely runs this year and thankfully it paid off.

"He travelled well, there was a nice pace and he dug deep to hold on. He showed a lovely attitude and you'd love to see that."
