Reflectionist (10/3) landed the second division of the 2m3f handicap hurdle to round off proceedings at Punchestown.

The Sea The Stars gelding was recording a breakthrough victory having been runner-up on his first start for trainer Gavin Cromwell at Clonmel earlier in the month.

Waited with behind the leaders by Sean Flanagan, he got a good trip around the inner and came through to dispute the lead after two out. In front before the last, he stayed on well to defeat Nasee by seven lengths.

“He ran well the last day and is a fine big horse," said Flanagan.

Gavin hasn’t got him that long and it seems like he is doing things well at home.

“I felt he didn’t come down the hill that well in Clonmel the last day and that’s probably why they have come here.

“He’s by Sea The Stars so he handled that ground well and is a fine big scopey horse.”
