There should be Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby clues on offer in the Airlie Stud Gallinule Stakes at the Curragh.

Jim Bolger runs Renaissance Art not seen since beating the odds-on Derby favourite Australia in a maiden last June, and stablemate Theophilus, who was added to the Irish Derby field this week and won his only start by nine lengths.

Bolger said: "Renaissance Art hasn't been seen for a while. We had a few little setbacks with him along the way, but he's ready to start back now.

"Theophilus won his maiden very nicely. The Gallinule is always a good race."

Aidan O'Brien saddles three contenders, headed by Adelaide narrowly beaten in the Prix Hocquart on just his second run. Mekong River was on the surface disappointing in the Lingfield Derby Trial, although valid excuses emerged as the blinkers dropped down over his eyes, while Blue Hussar was fourth in the same race.

Adding further spice is Dermot Weld's once-raced Edelmira, a winner by over five lengths at Tipperary and from a typical Aga Khan family.
