Bottom-weight Rock On Barney won the first split of the two and a half mile chase in Tipperary for father and son Paul and Jack Gilligan.

Jockey Jack faced a challenge over the second last from Crack On Corrie and Trevor Ryan but the latter was still a couple of lengths behind at the final obstacle.

A big leap at that fence sealed victory as the nine-year-old gelding went on by eight lengths. He brought up plenty of bets at 7/2.

Crack On Corrie came in second at 4/1. Cadawill completed the placings a length and a half back in third at 25/1.

Rock On Barney's sole other victory came in a handicap hurdle at Clonmel in January 2018.
