Srucahan got up in the dying strides to claim the six-furlong handicap at the Curragh. Allegra Tak made a bold bid from the front but was claimed in the closing stages by Edenshaw

That rivals lead was short lived, however, as Chris Hayes lunged late on Srucahan for a half-length success at 12/1.

It was a return to form for Paul Deegan's charge, who had been well held at Tipperary last time.

The Kheleyf gelding had gained sole previous victory at that course back in May.

"That's his second win this year and we're delighted with him," said travelling head lad Paul Coyle afterwards.

The winner is owned by Pat Hyland of Oghill Stud in Monasterevin.
