Stromstad Rewards Connections Patience

Sun 19th Apr 2009, 16:12

Another Ambition (7/2 in the morning into 6/4) was the one punters wanted in the Graun Hill Beginners Chase but Stromstad never far off a strong gallop, led three out and kept going best under Roger Loughran to beat Askwith by three lengths with a further six lengths back to the aforementioned favourite.

This winning son of Halling, carries the well known colours of James Gough and the five to one shot is trained by James McAuley.

The chestnut hadn't won since November 2004 having broke down in the Fred Winter - off for three years after that and he was off for a further eight months after breaking down in Gowran. (EM)
