At the first time of asking over fences Mind Your Money (well-backed 15/8 favourite) delivered in the Walter Hennessy Auctioneer, Valuer And Estate Agent MIPAV TRV MCEI Mares Beginners Chase.

This Tipperary curtain-raiser saw Mighty Meggsie go from the front. She provided stern enough resistance but Harry Swan looked content with what he had underneath him as the successful Kayf Tara mare got it done by half a length.

Swan reported on his grand-father Timmy Hyde’s charge: “She jumped brilliant and probably takes to it more than the hurdles. She can go long or short.

“She stays really well and a step up in trip might suit her better. She jumped away and got into a very nice rhythm.

“That’s my first winner over fences although I’ve ridden two point-to-point winners before. Things are going well and Gordon (Elliott) has been very good to me and given me a lot of opportunities.”

The winner is in foal to Crystal Ocean.

Niall Moore, rider of Easter Recital trained by Eric Larkin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled and hung badly throughout.

Kieran Callaghan, rider of Family Business trained by Donal Coffey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a bad mistake early on and jumped poorly throughout.
